March 6, 2022: Trunk Space LLC received initial approval to convert a Providence, Rhode Island, building into self-storage. The was sold in 2020 for $1.6 million to real estate holding company RAB Properties. Plans call for five stories containing 1,400 units. The developer initially proposed razing the complex, but planning staff requested preservation of the façade. The new design keeps the front of the structure intact, appeasing zoning commissioners.
