The new facility offers climate-controlled drive-up units and marked its opening with a community celebration benefiting Operation Christmas Child

October 5, 2026: Great American Self Storage has opened a new facility at 9190 S.W. State Road 200 in Ocala, Florida, expanding its self-storage presence with climate-controlled drive-up units.

The company celebrated the opening with a grand opening event on September 16, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, champagne toast, property tours and a barbecue prepared by facility manager Rodney Peska.

The event also supported Operation Christmas Child, a community initiative that helps provide holiday gifts to children. Attendees were invited to select tags from a Christmas tree and purchase requested items to help fill gift boxes for children during the holiday season.

The facility was developed in partnership with RSG Development, which specializes in self-storage and vehicle-storage properties.

Great American Self Storage currently operates nine locations across six states. The company develops, builds and operates self-storage properties in California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, New Jersey and North Carolina.
