The self storage facility will be developed by Cyzner Properties
October 11, 2020: Cyzner Properties will seek zoning approval from Branchburg officials this month to build a new self-storage facility at 3421 Route 22 E. rather than convert the existing 40-year-old office building. Once the interior of the original was gutted, engineers determined the building didn’t have the structural integrity to bear the necessary weight. The cost to reinforce it would be much more expensive than razing the building and replacing it with a new steel, according to the source.
The new Arthur’s Self-Storage is expected to have the same specs of the conversion plan originally submitted for the project, including the exterior design.
Cysner Properties-Edison got township approval in 2019 to convert the 3421 Route 22 east building, which used to house Sun National Bank, to a "state-of-the-art" self-storage facility. But those plans got canceled when construction began.
