Extra Space Storage Keeps Healthcare Workers Covered Through Employee Face-Mask Donations
Extra Space owns or operates 1,817 self-storage properties in 40 states

May 14, 2020:  Staff from self-storage real estate investment trust and third-party management firm Extra Space Storage Inc, has donated 10,000 of their own N95 respiratory masks to health workers. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, hospitals, healthcare workers and first responders have been scrambling to find crucial emergency supplies including face masks and other personal protective equipment.

The worldwide shortage has put the lives of frontline workers at risk, leaving people frustrated and afraid. Staff from Extra Space Storage Inc. stepped up to help fill the void by donating 10,000 of their own N95 respiratory masks to the cause. 

Extra Space also offers free storage to hospitals and first responders, according to a press release. The company also provided emergency kits for its employees in hurricane-prone areas, each of which includes an N95 respiratory masks. Staff from hundreds of Extra Space facilities volunteered to donate more than 10,000 masks to hospitals in need.

Extra Space facilities are operating with social distancing between customers and store managers. Business is being conducted through a “no contact” lease process, with all management offices being closed and rental agreements being processed online. This allows a risk-free business.
