Self-Storage Developer MCSS Names New Managing Partner
MCSS currently has 2 million square feet self storage facilities in various stages of development and lease up 

January 7, 2020: MCSS Development & Investment LLC has named Daniel Weinstein as managing partner. He will work closely with MCSS Founders Steve Garchik, Jay Massirman and Steve McBride on the execution of the firm’s strategic growth plan. MCSS is a joint venture between Rivergate Cos. and SJM Partners Inc. with a focus on self-storage. 

Weinstein graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and resides in Delray Beach, Fla., with his family.  Before joining in MCSS, Weinstein served as founder and managing partner of Urban Storage Fund, a real estate private-equity fund focused on developing and acquiring self-storage in select urban-core markets. He worked for self-storage real estate investment trust Public Storage Inc as the U.S. acquisitions manager. He also served in various development and acquisition capacities with different companies such as Trammell Crow Residential Co. and Security Self Storage.

With his diverse and extensive experience in the real estate and self-storage markets through the country, Dan is an ideal addition. We are so excited to add him to our growing team to provide the necessary leadership to continue expanding our platform.” Said by Jay Massirman.

Miami City Self Storage (MCSS) is a joint venture between Rivergate Companies and SJM Partners.  The mission of MCSS to acquire and develop urban infill self-storage facilities in high-value locations nationwide.  MCSS currently has 2 million square feet self storage facilities in various stages of development and lease up. Previously SJM developed 4 million square feet self storage in New York and Washington D.C. Active markets for MCSS include South Florida, DC, NY, Boston, LA and Northern California. In total the partners have developed over 60 storage facilities over the last 25 years.
