Extra Space Storage was also recognized among the top five Utah-based businesses
April 25, 2019: A publicly traded self-storage real estate investment trust (REIT) and third-party management firm Extra Space Storage has been named on the 2019 list of “America's Best Midsize Employers” by “Forbes” magazine. The company ranked in the 194th position in the 500 listing. Extra Space Storage was the only self storage company on the list.
Forbes partnered with the market-research company Statista conducted the survey to identify companies liked best by employees for its annual ranking, which is divided into two categories. First category includes large companies with more than 5,000 U.S. employees, while the other showcases midsize companies with 1,000 to 5,000. Extra Space was featured in the “Business Service & Supplies” category for midsized employers.

Extra Space Storage also recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” and a “Utah Business Best Companies to Work For” by Glassdoor, a job-search website in which employees can anonymously review companies.
Extra Space Headquartered in Salt Lake City owns or operates 1,647 self-storage properties in 39 states; Washington, D.C and Puerto Rico. Its properties comprise approximately 1.2 million units and 125.7 million square feet of rentable space.
