January 30, 2023: Pivot Energy is set to install rooftop solar arrays at nine more Extra Space facilities. The panels will add 946.8 kilowatts of capacity to the self-storage operator’s solar portfolio of 150 projects across 12 states, reaching a milestone of 15 megawatts. The installations are expected to produce about 20 million kilowatt hours of carbon-free electricity annually, which is approximately equal to powering more than 2,500 homes.

“Solar has helped Extra Space Storage realize significant cost savings, but more importantly, it’s the right thing to do,” said Steve Potter, project manager at Extra Space.

The two companies have been collaborating since 2018. “We deeply value our longstanding partnership with Extra Space,” said Erik Bruner, director of business development for Pivot Energy. “It is a delight to work with a client that’s genuinely enthusiastic about incorporating solar into their business model, and they’ve truly paved the way for their industry.
